More than half of the respondents in Taiwan believe that major policy decisions should be made by the people rather than politicians.
At the same time, over half believe that the differences between elites and ordinary people are greater than the differences among ordinary people themselves.
Around one-third of respondents adopted a more neutral stance on both issues.
