Our Goal

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration on Core Databases

To optimize national resources, enhance data accessibility for both domestic and international users, and increase the visibility of survey data, the Taiwan Empirical Survey Data integrates core empirical databases. This initiative expands the impact of these databases, fosters interdisciplinary and cross-team collaboration, encourages broader research applications, and enhances the overall value of empirical data.

Recommendations for the Long-term Development of Empirical Data in Taiwan

It is recommended to widely collect international trends in empirical survey development and clarify the current usage and needs of empirical data by domestic scholars. This will assist the NSTC in identifying survey areas that should be included in the long-term collection scope. Concrete and feasible solutions should be proposed to promote the long-term development and application of empirical data in Taiwan, enhancing Taiwan’s academic competitiveness internationally.

Recommendations for Empirical Data Governance

By consolidating trends in domestic and international empirical data governance and learning from global data governance policies, this initiative aims to ensure that data collection, preservation, and dissemination align with open science practices. It proposes governance guidelines to establish standardized data management frameworks, promote the institutionalization of open data practices, and achieve the FAIR data-sharing principles.
