In Japan, a baby macaque named Panchi, who was not raised by his mother at a zoo, carries a stuffed orangutan toy everywhere for comfort, touching people's hearts.
He is about eight months old, roughly equivalent to a one-year-old human child.
Similarly, data from a Kids in Taiwan panel study shows that about 17% of 18-month-old children have a specific item they often keep with them because it makes them feel safe.
