A 2023 survey shows that public opinion is divided on whether energy-intensive industries should be restricted from setting up factories locally.
Looking at regional differences, residents in Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung and Yilan are more likely to support such restrictions, while residents in Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli show the opposite pattern, having higher share opposing restrictions.
